Leica Camera has announced a new addition to its M rangefinder system, introducing the Leica M10-P, price tag £6,500. The most noteworthy addition is the touchscreen functionality, a first for Leica’s full-frame digital rangefinder.

The Leica M10-P is based on the M10 and promises a streamlined, discreet functionality for street photographers.

At the heart of the new Leica camera’s functionality is what the company says is the quietest shutter release of all Leica M cameras.

Promising an ‘inaudible’ shutter sound, the Leica M10-P is designed for taking candid shots on the go.

The Leica M10-P retains the same technical specifications of the M10, including its 24-megapixel full-frame sensor and also features built-in WiFi capability.

New to Leica M10-P is a touchscreen. This ability to touch and swipe on the screen, therefore, creates an intuitive workflow. Focus can be checked and exposure settings adjusted as you shoot.

Most importantly when it comes to reviewing your images the touchscreen gestures enable you to quickly check and review your days shoot.

The inclusion of a new integrated spirit level helps to ensure a level horizon.

The Leica M10-P lacks the famous Leica red dot logo on the front of the camera. Leica says the removal of the logo from the front of the camera makes it even more minimalist and discreet.
