Leica has unveiled the Leica LUX Grip, a high-end camera grip designed for iPhone users seeking a professional photography experience. Featuring MagSafe attachment and Bluetooth connectivity, the LUX Grip transforms smartphone photography with physical controls reminiscent of Leica’s traditional cameras.
The Leica LUX Grip offers an improved ergonomic design, making it easier for users to handle their iPhones while capturing images. A two-stage shutter release mimics the feel of a professional camera, focusing with a light press and capturing an image with a full press. Additionally, a customizable button allows users to switch between shooting modes swiftly. A control dial provides tactile precision, enabling adjustments to zoom, aperture, shutter speed, and exposure compensation.
This innovative accessory works in tandem with the Leica LUX App, which introduces Leica Looks—image presets inspired by the brand’s legendary lenses. Users can replicate the bokeh effect of Leica’s Summilux-M or Noctilux-M lenses and apply artistic styles such as Vivid or Black & White. The full version of the app is free for one year upon registering the grip.
Sustainability is a key focus, with the LUX Grip’s modular design allowing continued use when upgrading iPhones—only the MagSafe base plate needs replacing. The integrated battery lasts for up to 1,000 shots and recharges in two hours via USB-C.
