Leica has announced the Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–70 f/2.8 ASPH, price tag $2,795, a new universal SL zoom lens along with two new bundle options for the SL2 and SL2-S cameras.
Aimed at travel, landscape, reportage and architectural photography, the new all-rounder offers a maximum aperture of f/2.8 and is comprised of 19 elements in 15 groups. Three of these elements are aspherical to help reduce chromatic aberrations.
The Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–70 f/2.8 ASPH also offers a compact, lightweight body design, which is made possible by the omission of in-lens optical image stabilisation.
Internal focusing uses a silent stepping motor for quiet, faster AF performance, and Leica says the metal lens barrel is also weather sealed.
Leica is also unveiling two new camera bundle options with the new Vario-Elmarit-SL 24–70 f/2.8 ASPH. You can buy the new lens along with the SL2 and SL2-S priced at 8,795 and $7,195 respectively.
I’ve been looking forward for this, but I’ll still be waiting for your review once it comes out. I want to make sure that it’s worth my money.
