The first Leica digital M camera has turned 10 years old, and to celebrate the company has introduced offers on some of its key digital rangefinders.
The Leica M8 was launched in 2006, which was followed by the Leica M9 in 2009, which was the first Leica rangefinder camera to feature a full-frame sensor. The current range of Leica digital M cameras includes
- Leica M (Typ 240) – with a full-frame CMOS sensor, Live View and full HD video
- Leica M-P (Typ 240) – includes a sapphire glass LCD screen cover, frame selection lever and 2GB buffer memory
- Leica M (Typ 262) – omits Live View and video and concentrates on essential features
- Leica M-D (Typ 262) – the digital rangefinder without a screen
- Leica M Monochrom (Typ 246) – features a black and white sensor for monochrome photography
What’s more, all Leica M-lenses that have been produced since 1954 can be used with all of the digital Leica M models.
