Kandao has launched an update to its stitching software that allows all of its cameras to produce a depth map of its 360 images.
What a depth map does is allow the software to determine the distance between objects within a 360 image.
The new capability is given not only to Kandao’s high-end Obsidian R and S cameras, but also to its consumer-level Obsidian GO 360 camera.
As well as the depth map capability, Kandao’s new stitching software also adds a new depth-aware stitching mode, which is based on optical flow and AI.
