Is Canon working on a 63MP full-frame sensor for the EOS R range?

News

Canon appears to be developing a full-frame image sensor with a resolution of 63 million pixels and Dual Pixel AF, according to a document leaked online.

Canon has been said to be working on a high resolution EOS R camera that is due for launch at the end of 2019, and the leaked memo is fuelling rumours that this 63-megapixel sensor could be intended for that camera.

Below is the data sheet, which lays out more of the sensor technology. It’s also worth noting that Canon also makes high resolution sensor for industrial use, and this could very well be one of those prototypes in development.
