Insta360 has launched a new waterproof housing accessory for its 4K Insta360 ONE 360 camera, price tag $49.
The new Insta360 ONE waterproof housing boasts an IP68 rating and is protected against splashes and submersion in water at depths of up to 30 metres. It also protects the 360 camera from dust.
Users can control the ONE with a single button on the housing, or via the 360 camera’s Bluetooth controls.
Insta360 says: “The camera, however, is not specifically designed for underwater video capture – the refraction that light undergoes as it passes through water can result in stitching lines between the images captured by the ONE’s two lenses.
“But thanks to the ONE’s unique FreeCapture function, users can easily reframe the best parts of an underwater 360 video as standard, “flat” content to avoid stitching lines.”
To use the housing, you will also need to update to the latest version of the Insta360 ONE app, which will be launched on 17 November.
