Insta360 has announced the Insta360 Air, a new clip-on smartphone camera that captures immersive 360-degree HD images and videos that can be live-streamed or shared instantly on social media.

The Insta360 Air is designed for Android devices and allows users to share images and videos with one-click uploads to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Messenger and WhatsApp.

Inside the portable camera is a 210-degree dual fish-eye-lens, and the Insta360 Air employ real-time image stitching to capture the whole of a scene.

A built-in stabilisation algorithm helps the Insta360 Air capture smooth panoramic shots, the company says, and the campera’s dedicated app also features image and video editing tools.

The Insta360 Air also has a virtual reality mode so that users can create fully immersive experiences for their VR headsets.

Other features of the Insta360 Air include the capability of 3K stills with certain Android camera phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7, and 2K videos for all other devices.

The 360-degree camera comes in matte black, white and silver version, rose pink or gold.

InstaA360 is currently selling the Insta360 Air price at $125 (25% off its retail price) via an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign in a bundle that includes the  Insta360 Matte Black Air, Transfer Cable (for laptop), Smartphone Mount, Smartphone Tripod and Smartphone Adaptor.
