The new Huawei Mate 30 Pro has become the highest-rated smartphone camera on the market according to DxOMark.

The company, which tests smartphone cameras to evaluate image quality, gave the Mate 30 Pro’s SuperSensing Cine Camera an overall score of 121.

The score puts the Mate 30 Pro well ahead of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G, which earned a score of 117 earlier this year. In fact, Huawei can now lay claim to having five of the top 10 smartphone cameras for image quality.

With the Mate 30 at No. 1, the Huawei P30 Pro sits at No. 3 with a score of 116. The Honor 20 Pro, from Huawei’s budget range, is No. 5 at 113, followed by the Huawei Mate 20 Pro at 112. The Huawei P20 Pro sits at No. 9 with 109.

The Mate 30’s camera system includes a 40MP SuperSensing Camera, a 40MP Cine Camera, an 8MP Telephoto Camera and a 3D Depth Sensing Camera.

The SuperSensing Cine Camera is a dual-main camera system capable of taking stunning photos including Ultra-Wide Night-shots, Ultra-Wide Angle shots with HDR+, and portrait shots with Pro-Bokeh Effect.

The 40MP SuperSensing Camera with RYYB colour array is designed to attract more light, providing more detail and clarity in ultra-low-light conditions.

Individually, the Mate 30 Pro earned a score of 131 for photography and 100 for video.
