Hasselblad has launched the H6D-400c, price tag $47,000, which can capture images in at a staggering 400-megapixel resolution in its Multi-Shot mode.
The Hasselblad H6D-400c Multi-Shot mode captures six images in total. For the first four the camera shifts the sensor one pixel at a time to capture real colour data. The camera then takes two more exposure moving the sensor by half a pixel horizontally and half a pixel vertically.
Finally, the H6D-400c merges the frames to produce a single 400-megapixel image, which comes in the form of a 2.3GB, 16-bit TIFF file.
The medium format H6D-400c is the latest addition to Hasselblad’s H6D line of cameras. In its standard single-shot mode it can capture 100-megapixel images with its 100MP 53.4 x 40mm CMOS sensor and offers 15 stops of dynamic range and a native ISO range of 64 up to 12,800.
The Hasselblad H6D-400c can record 4K UHD video and Full HD Raw video at 30fps, and offers shutter speeds from 60min to 1/2000sec.
Other features include a 3in 920k-dot touchscreen LCD, dual CFast and SD memory card slots, built-in WiFi, 16-bit colour depth, 3FR Raw File Format and a USB 3.0 Type C connection for tethered shooting.
The Hasselblad H6D-400c MS price tag will be €39,999 / $47,995 / £36,250, with a release date of March 2018.
