Images of a new GoPro 360 camera, the GoPro Max, have leaked online, showing a revamped body design for what we can assume will be a replacement for the Fusion.
Spotted by Photo Rumors, the new GoPro Max 360 camera has already been registered with both the FCC in the United States and the Japanese Ministry of Communications.
Lending further credence to the rumour are big discounts on the GoPro Fusion at a number of retailers, such as Adorama (which lists it as a ‘closeout sale’), B&H Photo Video (which is offering a massive 50% off), Park Cameras and Wex Photo Video.
We don’t know what specs the GoPro Max will boast at this point, but we can probably assume it will offer at least 5.7K video resolution, besting the Fusion’s 5.2K and matching the Insta360 ONE X and YI VR 360.
The leaked GoPro Max images also appear to show revamped built-in mics and a large LCD, possible a touchscreen.
GoPro typically announces new cameras in September, so watch this space! In the meantime, this is what we expect to see from a GoPro Hero 8 which we suspect will be launched around the same time.
