GoPro and Hot Wheels have teamed up to launch a new toy car called Zoom In, which features a mount for a Hero Session action camera.
The Zoom In car, which amazingly costs just over a dollar at $1.09, making it GoPro’s cheapest mount you can buy, is intended to house your action camera while racing across one of Mattel’s Hot Wheels race tracks.
The Hero Session camera snaps into a stand on the top of the Zoom In car and films as it rolls across the track.
It’s a novel accessory, but one that has also raised an eyebrow among us here at Camera Jabber. As we reported last week, it appears that GoPro has quietly discontinued its range of Session action cameras.
If you look on GoPro’s website, there are no longer any traces of the Session camera to be found.
And this makes sense. The launch of the budget GoPro Hero kind of did make the Session range redundant. But that makes this joint launch with Mattel all the more curious.
Mattel says the Hot Wheels Zoom In should be launched later this month.
