Travel isn’t presently possible, but the restrictions on movement aren’t going to last forever, and once they do lift, we can get back out exploring and capturing the world.

During your isolation and between cleaning, watching TV and taking part in group exercise classes on Zoom, you can take some time to plan your next big adventure.

Face it; you’ll have more than enough time to plan your route; you can explore and check out locations with Google street view and decide on a few of those must-visit places.

Of course, as you plan, you’ll also need to think about the kit. Thankfully as luck would have it, Lowepro has just announced three new travel-inspired bags.

These new camera packs are an update to two popular product lines, the Fastpack and Slingshot. All three share plenty of common features that are travel tuned and aimed at today’s photographers who have swapped their DSLR for a Mirrorless camera.

To ensure maximum protection, the bags are made from high-grade coated ripstop fabric. These fabrics are the same construction as those used in the premium Whistler and FreeLine collections. This means that both new bags offer high-end protection against the elements, abrasion and moisture.

The new travel packs include innovative features such as QuickDoor that provides fast entry to your camera gear.

Lowepro describes this as “Simply partially unzip for on-the-go, sling-style Stage 1 access to the camera without putting the bag down, or release buckles and completely unzip for full access to camera compartment, lenses and accessories.”

Then there’s the CradleFitTM system. This system has been designed to keep laptops safe by keeping the laptop an inch from the base of the bag, so if you drop your bag down it won’t be the laptop that takes the knock.

The main feature of the updates is the size and weight, taking two classic product lines and updating them so that they are better suited to Mirrorless rather than DSLRs.

Looking at the Fastpack 250 AW III, this pack is a massive 33% lighter and 25% smaller than the previous generation. The Fastpack PRO 250 AW III is 17% lighter. Likewise, the Slingshot 250 AW II is 13% lighter than the original.

All packs provide you with a 50/50 split between your gear and additional space.
