Fujifilm has announced its smallest and lightest zoom lens for its X-Series cameras, introducing the FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ, price tag £259 with a release date of March 2018.

The new FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens measures just 44.2mm and weighs in at 135g. It’s optical design comprises 10 lenses in 9 groups, including three aspherical lenses and two ED lenses.

In 35mm equivalency, the new FUJINON XC15-45mmF3.5-5.6 OIS PZ lens covers a focal range of 23mm to 69mm, and at its widest focal length you can photograph subjects as close as 5cm with a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.24.

The lens design is collapsible, meaning it only extends when the camera is turned on, and users can select two different zoom speeds by rotating the zoom ring.

The new Fuji lens’s electric zoom also includes 3-stop optical image stabilisation for low-light conditions.
