Fujifilm has announced the FUJINON GF100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR lens for its medium format GFX system, with a release date set for 14 February.

The new FUJINON GF100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR is aimed at landscape and nature photographers and is the first telephoto zoom lens of its kind that has a 35mm equivalent focal range of 79-158mm, Fujifilm says.

The new Fuji GF lens is made up of 20 elements in 13 groups, which includes two Super ED lenses and one aspherical lens to help reduce chromatic and field curvature aberrations.

The FUJINON GF100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR comes with a new five-stop image stabilisation and a new mechanism for fixing the linear motor position when turning the power off or during playback to avoid additional vibrations.

The FUJINON GF100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR has been weather sealed in 10 areas and can operate at temperatures down to -10C.

The FUJINON GF100-200mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR is also compatible with Fujifilm’s GF1.4x teleconverter, which extends the focal range to 140-280mm.

The new Fuji GF lens comes with a lens cap and rear cap, lens hood, lens pouch and a tripod collar foot.
