Fujifilm has released new firmware updates for the X-A5, X-A3 and X-A20 that make performance enhancements and resolve a few reported bugs.

Most of the new Fujifilm firmware updates are fairly minor; however, the X-A5 update tweaks the camera’s algorithm to improve its AF speed and accuracy. It also extends the X-A5’s video recording time.

Details of the firmware updates include:

FUJIFILM X-A5 ver. 1.10
The firmware update Ver.1.10 from Ver.1.00 incorporates the following issues:

  • Introducing a new PDAF algorithm
  • Applying the newly developed PDAF algorithm first featured on the FUJIFILM X-T100. The improvement in autofocus speed and accuracy ensures that you capture those beautiful photographic moments quicker.
  • Extended movie recording time
  • The optimized movie processing algorithm extends the individual movie recording time up to approximately 30 minutes in any movie quality. <Note> Although movie recording will continue without interruption when the file size reaches 4GB, subsequent footage will be recorded to a separate file which must be viewed separately.
  • Initial setting of ISO is changed to “AUTO” from “200” when switching to P, S, A, M, and Adv mode.
  • Visibility on the LCD is improved during CL shooting.
  • Improved HDMI output usability
  • This upgrade eliminates the time limitation.
  • Graphic interface is modified when the main LCD monitor is inverted by 180 degrees.
  • The phenomenon is fixed that in rare cases, INTERVAL TIMER SHOOTING stops.

FUJIFILM X-A3 ver. 2.21
The firmware update Ver.2.21 from Ver.2.20 incorporates the following issues:

  • Initial setting of ISO is changed to “AUTO” from “200” when switching to P, S, A, M, and Adv mode.
  • The phenomenon is fixed that in rare cases, INTERVAL TIMER SHOOTING stops.

FUJIFILM X-A20 ver. 1.11
The firmware update Ver.1.11 from Ver.1.10 incorporates the following issues:
