Fujifilm to make budget GFX cameras in smaller form

Fujifilm will manufacture smaller, lighter versions of its medium format GFX cameras at a cheaper price tag, the firm’s General Manager has said.

In an interview with the website Cinema5D, Fujifilm General Manager Toshi Iida said that the company is aware of the falling price for full-frame cameras.

Iida said that Fujifilm is intends to make its medium format GFX line a more mainstream option by manufacturing models that are smaller, lighter and more affordable to consumers.

The wide-ranging interview touches on Fujifilm’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic and how the company is pressing on with its product development, as well as why the X-T3 is still a viable camera that will continue to be produced.
