Fuji has launched a new entry-level camera to its X-series range, the Fuji X-A10 – price tag £499 – which will be released in January 2017.

The 16.3-megapixel Fuji X-A10 becomes Fujifilm’s new entry-level camera and sports a retro body design with command dials on the top plate for adjusting aperture, shutter speed and exposure settings.

Meanwhile, settings such as white balance, continuous shooting and the X-A10’s self-timer can be assigned to standalone function buttons, eliminating the need to go through the Menu screens to change settings.

The Fuji X-A10’s native ISO range covers ISO 200 to 6400, which is expandable to ISO 25,600.

Another key feature of the Fuji X-A10 is a slide-and-tilt LCD screen that allows for 100% visibility, even when tilted the full 180 degrees.

When taking a self-portrait with the X-A10, you can focus and release the shutter by pressing the vertical command dial found directly below your index finger to minimise camera shake.

Rotating the tilting LCD upward by 180 degrees also activates the new Fuji camera’s Eye Detection AF, which automatically adjusts the focus on your eyes.

The Fuji X-A10 is capable of shooting approximately 410 frames on a single battery charge, Fuji says, and when fitted with the standard zoom XC16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS II kit lens, the camera offers a minimum working distance of around 7cm from the front edge of the lens, allowing photographers to shoot close-up macro photography.

Other features include 10 Advanced Filters, including the new “Fisheye” and “Cross Screen” as well as Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour modes.
