Fuji has introduced a new Fujinon XF50mm f/2 R WR lens – price tag £449 – with an equivalent focal length of 76mm.

The new lightweight Fuji lens weighs just 200g and comes in black and silver versions.

The lens construction boasts 8 elements in 7 groups with one aspherical ED lens, which Fuji says prevents spherical and chromatic aberrations.

Focusing elements are also lightweight, Fuji says, helping to ensure faster, quieter AF performance.

What’s more, the Fuji XF50mm f/2 is weather-sealed at 10 points around the barrel for rain and dust, and it can also operate in temperatures as low as -10C.

Other features include click stops and smooth damping on the aperture and focusing rings.
