Camera Jabber Olympus Workshop in Oxford
News

In partnership with Olympus, we have an exciting opportunity for up to 12 Camera Jabber readers. On Friday 6th July we’ll be hosting a photography workshop in Oxford using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II. Details about how to apply to attend are at the bottom of this post.

If you’re a DSLR user and you’re thinking about switching to a mirrorless camera, or perhaps you’ve been shooting mirrorless for a while and you’re looking to upgrade, this is the perfect opportunity to try Olympus’s flagship camera free of charge.

I’ll be leading a photo walk around Oxford in search of my favourite subject in the city – bicycles. Yep, Oxford might be known for its students, history and dreaming spires, but when I’m there I find myself magnetically drawn to photographing bicycles! And after a morning shooting with me, I think you’ll start to see their appeal.

More importantly, Olympus’s experts will also be there along with plenty of OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera bodies and a stack of Olympus M. Zuiko lenses for you to shoot with.

During the workshop, you’ll find out how the OM-D E-M1 Mark II can help you get more creative with your photography. I’ll also explain how the camera can help you visualise your final image so you get the shot you want in-camera rather than at the computer. In addition, you’ll get to experience the creative freedom of shooting with a vari-angle touchscreen and find your favourite Art Filter.

More good news is that Ali will be joining us and will chip in on the advice front. He’ll also be shooting video on the OM-D E-M1 Mark II so you can see that in action as well.

When and Where?

The workshop will start in the cafe at the Ashmolean Museum with tea/coffee at 10am on Friday 6th July. After a short introduction to the camera and the lenses available, we’ll head outside for a photo walk that will last about 2.5 hours.

At the end of the walk, there will be an opportunity to review your images and ask any last questions.
