ExpoImaging launches White Honeycomb inserts for Rogue 3-in-1 Flash Grid

ExpoImaging, Inc., maker of the Rogue 3-in-1 Flash Grid stacking honeycomb grid system for off-camera flash, has announced a new White Grid Insert accessory for the Rogue system.

The Rogue 3-in-1 system’s new White Grid Inserts are designed to scatter light from its honeycomb grid cells. When directed at a flat surface they produce a light pattern featuring a spot in the centre surrounded by a glowing halo-like effect.

Honeycomb grids attach to a flashgun, typically for use in portrait photography where they are used to modify hair light, rim light, background light or the main light to focus attention on the subject.

The company says that with the white grids, the edge of the lighting pattern will appear much softer and gentler compared to the rapid fall-off and more dramatic lighting effect produced by black grids.

What’s more, ExpoImaging says the White Grid Inserts – price tag £17.95 – will not change the colour of the flash.

To use the new White Grid Inserts, photographers need the attachment Grid Strap included with the Rogue 3-in-1 Flash Grid (sold separately). The White Grid Inserts cannot be attached to the flash without the Grid Strap.
