DXO, known for its complex image analysis and optical imperfection correction, has announced an update to its perspective and keystone correction software, ViewPoint.

DXO ViewPoint 3 uses DXO’s optical and image science experience to correct distorted perspective and wonky horizons automatically with just one click. There’s also a new tool that is designed to replicate the effect of using a tilt shift lens to produce a miniaturisation effect.

Available for Mac and Windows computers, DXO ViewPoint 3 works as a standalone package or as a plug-in for DXO Optics Pro, which uses DXO’s Optic Modules to correct optical errors. ViewPoint 3 can also be used as a plug-in for Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and Photoshop Elements to correct complex perspective problems and restore the natural shape to subjects towards the edges of images captured with wide-angle lenses.

Along with the addition of automatic corrections, ViewPoint 3 enables manual perspective and distortion correction and has a new cleaner interface.
