DxO OpticsPro raw converter has rebranded as DxO PhotoLab and added new local retouching tools, the company has announced.

The rebranding of DxO’s 13-year-old raw conversion software comes as the company acquired the Nik Collection from Google. The revamped DxO PhotoLab incorporates Nik’s U Point technology which allows users to make local adjustments by simplifying the process of making selections.

As well as offering U Point technology in a non-destructive raw workflow, DxO PhotoLab also offers an auto mask brush, graduated filter and a new Repair tool.

DxO PhotoLab’s Repair tool again is a simple brush that can be used on areas that need retouching, but DxO says it has enhanced its algorithm to provide faster, more accurate results.

DxO says it has also enhanced its raw-file automatic Lens Sharpness correction too.
