DJI has announced the Zenmuse X7, price tag $2,699, a new professional cinema camera that offers a 23.5mm x 12.5mm Super 35 sensor along with 6K resolution.
The Zenmuse X7 is designed for use with DJI’s Inspire 2 drone and offers 14 stops of dynamic range.
Along with 6K CinemaDNG Raw resolution, the Zenmuse X7’s sensor also offers 5.2K Apple ProRes recording at up to 30fps and 3.9K CinemaDNG Raw or 2.7K ProRes recording at up to 59.94fps.
Zenmuse X7 Lenses
Another unique feature is the Zenmuse X7’s interchangeable carbon fibre lenses. The Zenmuse X7 uses a dedicated aerial mount system, the DJI DL-Mount, featuring an ultra-short flange focal distance to carry prime lenses optimally.
Users can choose from focal lengths of 16mm, 24mm, 35mm or 50mm, each offering an f/2.8 aperture.
The DJI X7’s 16mm lens in particular boasts a built-in ND4 filter.
DJI has also introduced a new DJI Cinema Color System (DCCS), which features a new D-Log Curve and D-Gamut RGB colour space to give more flexibility and colour options during the post-production process.
The D-Log further extends the dynamic range, while the D-Gamut RGB colour space preserves more colour information to support the most demanding filmmaking scenarios, providing accurate colour for quick and easy post-processing.
DJI Zenmuse X7 Price & Release Date
The DJI Zenmuse X7 price tag on its own will be $2,699. European pricing is not yet confirmed.
The Zenmuse X7’s 16mm, 24mm and 35mm lenses will be priced at $1,299 each, while the 50mm lens will cost $1,199. You can also buy all four as a kit for $4,299.
The Zenmuse X7 release date will be November.
