DJI is showcasing two new drones at IFA in Berlin, introducing the Mavic Pro Platinum and Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian.

DJI Mavic Pro Platinum features

  • 11% more flight time
  • 60% noise power reduction
  • 4K stabilised camera

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum inherits all of the same flight features and body design as its sibling, the Mavic Pro, but DJI has tweaked it to give the Platinum an 11% gain in flight time. The Mavic Pro Platinum can now fly for up to 30 minutes.

DJI says the Mavic Pro Platinum also boasts a 60% noise power reduction, making it quieter to operate. DJI says it has done this by incorporating new electronic speed controllers into the drone’s design, as well as tweaking the shape of its propellers.

The other main difference lies in the drone’s name: the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum boasts a new platinum covered shell.

What’s more, the DJI Mavic Pro Platinum also features a 4K stabilised camera, 4.3 mile (7km) range, FlightAutonomy technology to sense obstacles up to 49ft (15m) away and a range of intelligent flight modes.

The DJI Mavic Pro Platinum price tag will be £1,119 GBP / €1,299 with a September release date. Visit DJI’s website for more details.

DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian

DJI has also launched a new matte-grey Obsidian colour version of its Phantom 4 Pro drone. The Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian features a magnesium, electroplated and anti-fingerprint coated gimbal.

It also boasts a large 1in CMOS sensor and a 4K 60fps recording capability.

The DJI Phantom 4 Pro Obsidian price tag will be £1,459 GBP / €1,599.
