Adobe is promising more control over how users can remove unwanted objects from their in a new teaser video for an upgrade to its Content-Aware Fill tool due out in the Photoshop CC 2019 update.

The video, narrated by Photoshop Project Manager Meredith Payne Stotzner, demos the new Content-Aware Fill upgrade where you can see a preview of your fill alongside the original image.

The original image will be masked with a green overlay and indicates what part of the image was used in the fill. If you prefer to use a different part of the image, you can simply erase the fill and use a new Sampling Brush to select a new area.

There’s also a new option to mirror patterns from another area of an image, among other ways to fine tune your sampling.

You can also set your tweaks to display as a new layer, thus preserving your original image.

Watch the video below to see how it works. We have to say, we’re quite excited to see this update.
