Canon’s gear stockpile at the Rio 2016 Olympics is probably worth more than your house

News

Canon has shared a behind-the-scenes peek at the gear it’s providing for photographers at the 2016 Olympics in Rio and the display is staggering.

Canon has set up a massive depot for photographers within the Olympic Park, with row after row of shelves stacked with lenses and professional bodies like the Canon EOS-1D X Mark II and Canon 5D Mark III.

Canon will be providing the camera bodies and nearly 2000 lenses as loans to accredited photographers shooting the 2016 Olympic Games. The company also has a staff of 78 people on hand to help support the Canon photographers at the Games.

Canon shared the images with PetaPixel, as well as a video tour behind the scenes.
