Canon has released a new video showing off the low-light performance of its new full-frame Full HD CMOS sensor, which can capture 100fps video.
The 9μm Full HD 35MMFHDXS CMOS Sensor Canon is developing is designed to capture Full HD video in near-dark conditions.
Explaining the technology on its new sensor development page, Canon says the low-light sensor’s pixels and readout circuitry incorporate new technologies that reduce noise.
Canon says it has achieved high sensitivity and increased well depth thanks to a larger pixel size of 19μm x 19μm (square). The video below shows off its capabilities.
The 35MMFHDXS CMOS sensor is available in RGB, RGB+IR or Monochrome.
Canon USA posted the video a day after it posted a video of its new 120-megapixel APS-H CMOS sensor, which boasts around 60x the resolution of Full HD.
