Canon has announced the RF-S 55-210mm F5-7.1, price tag £429.99, a new budget APS-C zoom lens.
The Canon RF-S 55-210mm F5-7.1 is now the third lens to join the company’s nascent RF-S range of APS-C lenses, joining the RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM and RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM. Canon is billing it as the ideal second lens and ideal for capturing subjects that are further away.
The new RF-S 55-210mm F5-7.1 boasts a 4.5-stop Optical Image Stabilizer which, when used with an EOS R system camera with IBIS, can provide up to 7 stops of combined Image Stabilisation.
Despite its long zoom, the new lens weighs just 270g, making it ideal for travel. Other features include close-up shooting at a maximum magnification of 0.28x.
