Canon has announced a new SELPHY CP 1300 photo printer which allows users to print images directly from their smartphone or camera.

The WiFi-enabled printer is designed to all you to print from anywhere, and Canon claims it can print lab-quality images in just 47 seconds.

The SELPHY CP 1300 can print up to 256 shades of each colour, giving it a total of 16.3 million possible colours it can achieve, Canon says.

What’s more, Canon says the SELPHY CP 1300’s prints can withstand stains such as coffee spills.

Other features include automatic noise removal and colour enhancement via an algorithm that recognises your subject and background. And a new Face Frame Guide offers 43 pre-set sizes for creating ID photos.

The SELPHY CP 1300 is compatible with both Android and iOS, using Mopria and AirPrint, respectively, to allow you to print directly from your device.

The Canon SELPHY CP 1300 price tag will be £129.99/ €164.99, with a release date from September 2017.
