Canon has announced a new premium ultra-compact camera, introducing the PowerShot SX740 HS, priced at £349.99/€419.99/$399.
The Canon PowerShot SX740 HS boasts a fixed lens offering 40x zoom and an equivalent focal length of 24-960mm with a maximum aperture of f/3.3 at the wide-angle end and f/6.9 at the telephoto end of the range.
Inside the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS is a 1/2.3-inch BSI-CMOS sensor offering 20-megapixel resolution. The new Canon compact camera can also shoot UHD 4K video.
Canon has also given the PowerShot SX740 HS its latest DIGIC 8 processor, and the camera can shoot 7.4fps in burst mode with continuous AF.
Other features of the Canon PowerShot SX740 HS include built-in WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth and a 3-inch flip-up LCD screen.
The Canon PowerShot SX740 HS release date will be in August. The camera will be available in silver or black.
