Canon launches firmware to fix RF 70-200mm f/2.8L focus issue

Users reported the focusing issue last month when using the lens at its telephoto end

Canon has released a new firmware update for the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM lens which corrects a focusing issue reported by users.

Firmware version 1.0.6 for the Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM fixes a bug reported over the last couple months that was reported by users when try to focus at the lens’s minimum focus distance.

According to Canon, the new firmware fixes a ‘phenomenon when performing AF shooting to capture a subject at close-range with the focus distance approximately set to the Tele-end (200mm), the image may become slightly front-focused.’
