Canon has acknowledged reported focusing issues with the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM and is working on a firmware release that will resolve the bug.

Users reported having issues with the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L at its minimum focusing distance. Many users have reported that it seems like the lens is front focusing when used closer to its minimum focus distance.

Images shot at the wider end of the focal range appear to be OK.

According to Canon News, Canon is now aware of this phenomenon and preparing a firmware update as soon as possible.
