Calumet has merged with Wex Photographic
News

Calumet Photographic has now merged with Wex Photographic, following the latter’s acquisition by investment firm Aurelius back in March.

Calumet and Wex are two of the biggest photographic retailers in the UK, and their merger was announced earlier this year when Aurelius purchased Wex from Barclays for an undisclosed amount of money.

Less than a year prior, in June 2016, Aurelius purchased Calumet. Together, Aurelius estimated combined revenues of €175 million.

Calumet has posted the following message at the top of its homepage (well, Wex’s home page, which is where it now redirects to):

Dear Calumet Customer,

Calumet Photographic Limited UK has now merged with Wex Photographic, offering an improved experience and wider range of products to photographers across the country. Rest assured that there will be minimal disruption to your service, and all outstanding orders (including pre-orders, back-orders and vouchers) will be honoured. We would like to thank you for your loyal custom over the years and look forward to serving you at our new online home.

Please visit our dedicated FAQ page for more information or call us on 0333 003 5000 with any questions.

Thanks again for your continued support,
The Calumet Team.

Wex serves about half a million customers in the UK, according to its CEO.
