Atomos Shinobi Go, new budget HDMI monitor announced

Affordable 5-inch HDMI monitor for on-the-go filmmakers

News

Atomos has launched the Shinobi Go, a budget-friendly 5-inch HDMI monitor aimed at videographers and photographers needing a high-quality display for on-the-go shooting. As an entry-level version of the popular Shinobi, this new monitor delivers essential monitoring tools without the higher cost of professional-grade alternatives.

The Shinobi Go features a 1000-nit, full-HD touchscreen, providing excellent visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. Unlike its more advanced counterparts in the Atomos range, this model is HDMI-only, making it ideal for users with mirrorless cameras, DSLRs, or other HDMI-equipped video devices. It supports Rec.709 colour calibration, ensuring accurate colour representation for video work.

Weighing just 180g, the Shinobi Go is a lightweight, power-efficient choice for those who need a reliable on-camera monitor. It runs on Sony NP-F batteries, offering extended usability in the field. The interface provides tools such as focus peaking, false colour, zebras, and waveform monitoring, giving users precise control over their footage.

By stripping out recording capabilities and professional connectivity options like SDI, Atomos has kept the Shinobi Go at a competitive price point, making it an appealing choice for content creators who primarily need high-quality monitoring.
