Angelbird Technologies has launched the SSD2GO PKT, a new portable SSD drive that it claims is near indestructible.
The SSD2G) PKT weighs just 50 grams and is only 9.5mm thick yet can withstand being run over by a truck, Angelbird says.
What’s more, it can function in temperatures as high as +85°C (+185°F) and down to to -40°C (-40°F).
Designed for photojournalists and travel photographers who shoot large amounts of raw data, the SSD2GO PKT can perform at 68,000 IOPS and speeds of up to 560MB/s, making the user’s files accessible within 0.5 ms, Angelbird says.
The SSD drive is compatible with Mac, Windows, Linux and Android, and it is available in capacities ranging from 256GB, 512GB or 1TB.
It is also compatible with USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C, 10Gb/s, and backwards compatible, and it comes with one Type-A to Type-C cable and one Type-C to Type-C cable.
