Owl Labs has announced a new 360 camera, the Meeting Owl – price tag $799 – which is designed for companies to host video conferences.

Owl Labs, which is a startup backed by Android co-founder Andy Rubin, says the Meeting Owl 360 camera will automatically focus its video feed on the person who is talking, similar to what you may have experienced in a Google Hangout.

The Meeting Owl boasts a 360-degree camera on top of its free-standing body, which is surrounded by eight microphones that are designed to pick up audio from all directions. Owl Labs says the microphones can also isolate unwanted noise from the background.

As well as focusing automatically on the speaker, the Meeting Owl also claims to present a split-screen view when two or more people are engaged in conversation.

The Meeting Owl is compatible with most mainstream video conferencing platforms and apps, such as Skype, Google Hangouts, Slack and more.

Owl Labs says the Meeting Owl will ship within the next month.
