Photographers who use Microsoft Windows can now download Serif’s Affinity Photo software as part of the company’s free public beta.

Up until now, Affinity Photo has been available for Mac users and the new Windows version retains all of the original features of the photo editing software.

The new beta version includes a new features that will be launched in Affinity Photo’s next update, v1.5. Among these features are:

  • Advanced HDR merge producing full 32-bit linear colour space images
  • Focus stacking to bring depth to multiple combined images
  • Batch processing for smoother, faster workflow
  • An all-new way to edit 360 degree images

The beta period allows users to try the new photo editing software free of charge and offer feedback, allowing Affinity Photo’s developers the opportunity to fine-tune the product before its full launch.

Once the beta period ends, the Affinity Photo for Windows price tag will match its subscription-free sibling for Mac, with a one-off payment of $49.99 / £39.99 / €49.99. This price also includes all future updates to the software.
