3 Legged Thing has resurrected its original Brian tripod, announcing the new carbon fibre 3LT Punks Brian.

The Punks Brian travel tripod weighs just 1.45kg / 3lbs and can fold to just 41cm / 16.5 inches, while extending to a height of 1.87m / 74 inches.

The Punks Brian also boasts two column sections as well as five leg sections.

The Punks Brian tripod is constructed from eight layers of 100% pure pre-preg carbon fibre, 3 Legged Thing says, and offers a modular functionality, meaning users can remove, attach or reconfigure the Punks Brian to suit their purpose.

For instance, removing its centre column enables you to set up the Punks Brian as low as 11cm / 4.3 inches off the ground. You can also add the centre column to a detachable monopod leg, enabling the monopod to extend up to 1.92m / 75.5 inches.

Other features include a Tri-mount plate for attaching extra accessories, a wide 80-degree leg angle and bubble grips.

The Brian joins 3 Legged Things Punks range of tripods after being retired back in 2015 following four incarnations.

3 Legged Thing Punks Brian price information wasn’t available at the time of writing. It’s available for pre-order now, and will begin shipping from 2 April.
