3 Legged Thing has announced the Alan and Trent, two new monopods to its range, as well as the Docz foot stabiliser which is compatible with both models.

Designed for sports and action photography, the 3 Legged Thing Alan folds down to just 45cm and extends up to 1.49m. Alan is made of eight layers of carbon fibre and aircraft grade alloys, yet can support a payload of nearly 100 times its weight at 60kg.

Each end of the 3 Legged Thing Alan features dual 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch threads, allowing you to connect it to a range of accessories, or even use it as a boom for your camera or microphone.

What’s more, the Alan’s Tri-Mount plate offers three hollowed spurs for attaching accessories.

The 3 Legged Thing Trent is made of magnesium alloy and extends to more than 2m. The Trent can also support a payload of 30kg and boasts the same dual 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch screw threads.

Both monopods have a detachable rubber boot at the bottom which you can replace with 3 Legged Thing’s new Docz foot stabiliser (or any other 3LT footwear).

The Docz is a 30cm designed to add stability to 3LT monopods and boasts a rubber adjuster that controls the friction and tension settings on its ball mount.

The 3 Legged Thing Alan is priced £129.99 / $149.99, while the 3LT Trent price tag is £109.99 / $79.99. The Docz costs £49.99 / $59.99.
